The CH EMED implementation guide describes the FHIR representation of the documents for the exchange of medication information in the context of the EPR (electronic patient record) in Switzerland. This eCH standard references the eCH-0241 standard CH Core (R4) (v3.0.0: STU 3) based on FHIR R4.

The following documents have been defined:

• Medication Treatment Plan document
• Medication Prescription document
• Medication Dispense document
• Pharmaceutical Advice document
• Medication List document
• Medication Card document

The documents are based on the IHE Pharmacy Technical Framework modelled and specialized in the Building Block Repository CH-PHARM. Base for this modelling was the report from IPAG eMedikation, 7.6.2017 and the work of IPAG/eHealth Suisse.

The CH EMED implementation guide has been tested three times at the yearly Swiss Projectathon and HL7 Switzerland has successfully performed a ballot for this STU3 version.
